Mary Carol Chenet

Mary Carol trained in Classical Ballet and performed with Ballet Joyeux of Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a Soloist.

Her passion switched to modern dance in 1992 when she joined the Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre

of Long Beach, California. In 1996, Mary Carol moved to New Orleans and began working with the

Nicole Colbert Dance Theatre. She later met Eddy Villalta in 1998, when they both danced for

New Orleans Dance Collective, under the direction of Barbara Hayley. Mary Carol taught dance

and choreographed for NORD/NOBA for eight years. She has continued working with other

choreographers such as Monique Moss and Gabe Pickard over these years. As a Choreographer,

she has presented her works at DramaRama in both 2006 and 2008.

Mary Carol joined D’PROJECT as a member in 2006.
